Today the newspaper Wales On Sunday ran with an interview with Swansea’s Leon Knight. In addition to talking about their play off hopes, he also used the interview for yet another chance to deride and lambast his former employeers on the south coast.
On the prospect of returning to Withdean, the midget ‘hot shot’ replied ‘Hell no, I don’t want to go back to that shoebox’, fearing Albion fans would want to stone him. He also defended his comments saying he was glad the Seagulls were relegated,made in April, by claiming had us fans known what he’d gone through, we’d understand why.
Firstly it is getting close to 5 months since he left us so surely the lad should have achieved some closure by now. He has an important play off game tomorrow, why use it as yet another chance to extend the malice?
Mark McGhee hasn’t always been popular with all Brighton fans, especially during the 2005/06 season. Some Albion fans were sad to see Leon go and still held him in high respect, yet this unprofessional mudslinging destroys any lingering respect we may have had for him. He has also apparently vindicated McGhee’s decision to ship him out.
Knight is obviously still full of vitrol over his departure from the club as he is using countless interviews to show. To us, he is nothing more than a former player who scored many goals to ensure promotion in 2004 but has done little of note aside from frequent fits of pique since.
Leon, we don’t care about you anymore. We have a tough campaign in League One and promotion aspirations to look forward to.
