Brighton’s out on loan left back Jim McNulty could need surgery to sort out the latest in a long line of injury problems.
The former Stockport ace has spent the last few months on loan at Scunthorpe, with the northern outfit said to be weighing up a January bid.
However, McNulty – who spent almost a year out after losing a kidney during a run of the mill challenge – is now facing at least five weeks out.
The scouser has suffered a repeat of the ankle injury he first suffered training in the morning of a Brighton away game at Huddersfield – a game the Seagulls went on to lose 7v1.
The medical team at The Iron think a lump of bone sticking out of the full-backs ankle needs removing.
McNulty will return to the south coast for treatment.
