Alex Revell and Nicky Forster were in fine form in an encouraging 4-0 win for Brighton away at League Two Chester.

Albion lined up with a 4-4-2 formation and the squad included Joel Lynch who partnered Guy Butters at centre back, Tommy Fraser on right midfield and a strike partnership of Nicy Forster and Alex Revell. Paul Reid was named amongst the substitutes.

After a scrappy start to the game which was fairly even, Brighton took the lead when Forster squared the ball in the box to Alex Revell who comfortably slotted the ball into the corner late on in the first period.

Chester had a number of chances in the second half to draw level but some good goalkeeping from Michel Kuipers stopped them.

The last 15 minutes saw Albion go on a goalscoring flourish as we started to outplay our opponents. Dean Hammond’s break from midfield found Forster who turned provider for Revell once again as his through ball was just about met by Revell who poked the ball past the Chester ‘keeper to make it 2-0.

Forster then capped off a positive performance with a goal himself. Andrew Whing’s high ball played the former Hull striker through on goal and his shot on the bounce gave Ward in the Chester goal no chance.

Then just before the end, Brighton were awarded a penalty which Dean Hammond converted to make it 4-0 and a positive final game of another up and down pre season.
