Brighton and Hove Albion’s league 1 status still hangs in the balance after a 2-2 draw against Huddersfield at the Galpharm stadium.

The Seagulls fought back to draw level after falling behind twice to the home side in front of a crowd of 14,740. The stalemate means that Albion now have to win in their final match of the season at home to Stockport County in order to secure their safety.

After a bright start the Albion fell behind in controversial circumstances when the Terriers legendary striker Andy Booth, who was playing his last home match before retiring looped in a header which was adjudged to have crossed the line. The goal was given dispite protests from the Albion players.

Seven minutes before the break Brighon were level when Calvin Andrew headed in Dean Cox’s inviting corner.

Shortly after the break Michael Collins put town back in front but once again the Sussex side fought back as Lloyd Owusu headed home his seventh goal for the Albion and his sixth in as many games.

There were chances at either end in the closing stages but the point means that the Seagulls destiny is in their own hands.
