Brighton are again on the lookout for another manager after the offered resignation from Oscar was today accepted by the club.

Reports said that Oscar had offered to resign in the wake of defeat on Sunday, with him told to ‘go away and think about it’.

Less than 24 hours later he formally offered his resignation, which has been accepted.

Oscar’s official website statement read.

‘The club has been aware of my thoughts for several weeks and during this time I have had discussions with both the chairman, Tony Bloom, and chief executive, Paul Barber. I have enjoyed my time with the club but, although I do not have any immediate plans, I have decided to move on.

‘I`m very proud of this season with Brighton. The Championship is a very difficult and competitive league but our record this season has been very good. I wish Brighton every success for the future.’

Both chairman Tony Bloom and chief executive Paul Barber of course thanked the head coach for his efforts and wished him now but now start the search for a new manager.

This might explain why Oscar hasn’t seemed quite with it in recent weeks, much like I said earlier I was happy for him to carry on but if his heart isn’t in it it’s best that we look elsewhere and bring in someone else.

I’d like to thank Oscar for this season, it’s a shame we couldn’t quite see the job through but I wish him well for the future much as the club have.
