Well, according to a report in the Mirror anyway.

This reports Brighton are ‘poised to land a huge coup’ by beating a number of clubs to the signing of Chelsea’s England U21 international Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

It has been claimed the fact Brighton are top of the Championship – with it most likely Loftus-Cheek would get more first team football – will see Chelsea loan the midfielder to Albion ahead of the likes of West Ham.

The report cited key West Ham midfielders Cheikhou Kouyate and Mark Noble as potential players that would prevent 20 year old Loftus-Cheek from getting the amount of football Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants him to get during a temporary loan spell away from the Premier League leaders.

As a result Chris Hughton – not that he’ll assure him of a starting place at the Amex Stadium as such – will seal a loan deal for the highly rated midfielder as our promotion push is handed an extra boost.

However, until this is officially confirmed we can’t believe it too much can we!
