Last week saw four Seagulls play for their countries in a glut of international friendlies.

Albion Captain Gordon Greer and on loan Craig Conway both started and Greer played the whole ninety minutes whilst Conway was substituted with only 6 minutes remaining of their game against a strong USA team. In fact Conway had Scotland’s best chance to win the game but shot wide from a good position.

In the Republic of Ireland game two Albion full backs came up against each other with Ireland beating Latvia 3-0.
Stephen Ward and young Maksimenko both played a full 90 minutes for their respective countries.

Andrew Crofts would have probably played for Wales in their 1-1 draw with Finland if it wasn’t for injury so that’s 5 internationals at the moment and who knows who will be next.

If we continue to improve and bring in better quality players then maybe one day Brighton could be truly an international team.
