Brighton’s reported interest in Lewis Grabban ended up with an offer being made to Bournemouth for the striker, which matched the £1.1m release clause in his contract, but he ended up staying at Goldsands.

Grabban revealed to BBC Radio Solent that he felt it right to see what was on offer but was happy to stay with Bournemouth with it decided that his future was better served staying on the South Coast with them and not joining Albion.

It’s his loss.

Oscar would’ve been frustrated to miss him and even though he’s said he’s happy with the squad as it is he’s still looking to bring in some players to replace the ones that have been allowed to leave Albion this month.

‘We have lost four or five players and we didn’t have replacements so we will have to see what we can do.

‘At the moment we have the squad we have, but we are always looking to strengthen.’

Money is available to Oscar, if it wasn’t the move for Grabban wouldn’t have been made, so he’ll be working hard to identify the players he’d like to bring to the Amex then it’s down to the powers that be to make it happen.
