The Experienced Bulgarian midfielder has today been released by Albion boss and friend Gus Poyet after a terrific season in Sussex.

Poyet brought in Kishishev during the summer to add some much needed experience and know how to a young Albion squad. Affectionately nicknamed ‘the Uncle’ by te squad, Kishishev layed down the bench mark or what Poyet expected from his players, playing an integral role in Brightons excellent start to their League One Campaign.

A return home in the new year for family reasons and the emergence of Liam Bridctt limited him to a bit part role for the remainder of the season but his influence cannot be under estimated.

When The Albion last won the league and promotion another veteran brought in for a season had a similar affect. Simon Morgan arrived from Fulham on a years contract and is still rated by Albion fans today as one of the best centre backs to play for the club. Kish will now be placed in the same role and his release will almost certainly prompt his retirement from the game. Last year he won the Bulgarian Premier League and this year League One, not a bad way to end adistinguished and well respected career.

Thanks Kish and all the very best, x
