Where Does Albion’s Latest Win Leave Them

Only a few weeks back after the Forest defeat, everyone who cared about Brighton was thinking the same thing, that was, there’s no way that we would be challenging for promotion this year.

Since then the management, the players and even the fans have all contributed to a tremendous three game winning streak that has catapulted the Seagulls to within 2 pts of the play offs and playing with a confidence and flair that is reminiscent of last year.

What is surprising is that we are doing this without a number of ‘first team’ players and when they all come back fit and raring to go we really could storm this league.

I must be honest and say that I thought we didn’t have a strong enough squad to cope with these injuries but I am happy to admit I was wrong, although I still think we are a little light up front and i’m surprised that Lita hasn’t started a couple of games but all the same we have won three games scoring 7 goals in the process.

Both JFC and Rohan Ince have been a revelation and the defence has been rock solid with Kuszczak pulling off wonder saves on the odd occasions that it is breached.

I now believe that we will push QPR, Forest and Leicester (the teams I see being in the mix for automatic promotion) for the top two spots and if we fail and only make the play offs we will have learned from last season and win the play-offs.
Bold prediction maybe but OG has got something that Poyet didn’t and that is the ability to use young players and get the best from them.

So here’s hoping we don’t go and lose to Bournemouth in ‘one of those games’ and that we get another win that sees us move into the play-off places and stay there ready for a big push after Christmas.

Well don Oscar, well done lads and well done to us the fans, with another magnificent 1,100 travelling to the WD Saturday.
